Locating Quality Undergraduate Colleges for Counselors, Parents, and Students. Over 800 Entry Changes in this edition.
Rugg's 27th edition lists 14,000 quality departments at over 1,115 quality colleges. In short, we thinned out the college departments to a top 12%. From the first piece of research garnered from a student on a college campus in 1978, to questioning hundreds of counselors last fall, Rugg's college guide is now proudly in its 30th year in over 80% of America's high schools and libraries. The guidebook has been designated nationally as a "revered staple, the book parents and students must start with" in the search for a college to attend. The 27th edition is the accumulation of over 40 years of work in the undergraduate admissions process, and, as always, Rugg is independent of the colleges. There are over 800 entry changes since the 27th edition, over 118 majors have been revised and changed, 190 recommended departments per major. Wholesale changes have been made on 30 departmental pages.
