Rugg's Recommendations on the Colleges 29th Edition

Locating Quality Undergraduate Colleges for Counselors, Parents, and Students. Over 800 Entry Changes in the New PDF ONLY FORMAT, with bookmarks for every major.

Rugg's new 29th edition lists 15,000 quality departments at over 1,125 quality colleges. In short, we thinned out the college departments to a top 14%. From the first piece of research garnered from a student on a college campus in 1978, to questioning hundreds of counselors last fall, Rugg's college guide is now proudly in its 32nd year in over 80% of America's high schools and libraries. The guidebook has been designated nationally as a "revered staple, the book parents and students must start with" in the search for a college to attend. The 29th edition is the accumulation of over 40 years of work in the undergraduate admissions process, and, as always, Rugg is independent of the colleges. There are over 800 entry changes since the 28th edition, over 120 majors have been revised and changed, 205 recommended departments per major. Wholesale changes have been made on 35 departmental pages. Two new majors have been added: Canadian Studies and Sustainability Studies.

"I wish Mr. Rugg had put his book on my desktop computer years ago. This new PDF for all his products is great, and so easy to use and the addition of bookmarks for all the majors saves even more time. I turn my monitor toward me and get a lot of lists and a lot of answers. I have his college lists right on my screen as I talk to parents and students. And for them I can copy so easily the major pages they (we) want and I do not have to leave my chair." ~ Vernon Vargas, Long-time College Coordinator, Moreau Catholic High School, Hayward, CA, October 23, 2011
